7/30/13 - clean/squat & wfd

Training#1 @ 415a

Hang clean up to 275x1
Back squat up to 405x1, add belt/wraps 475x3
12" step ups 225x5x3
SG RDL 275x5x3

Done and done. This felt awful. 275 felt heavy to clean, 475 felt AWFUL to squat. Definitely not recovered but I got some work in. Going to work on getting some extra sleep the next couple days and will handle this week as sort of a "back off" week. Still going to throw and train, but a bit lighter/less volume than usual.

Training#2 @ 1230p

49# wfd
*1 turn x6
*full x10ish, 47ish

28# wfd x5, 78,80,84,82,86

Working on two things here. 1) a wider orbit. Trying to really extend my arm and push the weight as far away from me as I can. 2) driving my hip better at the front: since working on my braemar pushing with my hip and getting better at separating I figured I could attempt to add this in. Still not where I want it but definitely better. Looking to have my hips forward and square to the trig when the weight is still back at 6:00 for a super long push. HWD felt smooth but just felt like there was nothing on it. No gas in the tank to really get it moving. LWD felt much better, smooth, relaxed and very long, however, definitely not fast. Looking forward to next practice.

Overall 3rd behind the ever studly duo Andy and Matt Vincent, respectively.

I don't really have much of a recap here. I performed terribly. Between the platforms, fatigue, no blades, blah blah blah excuse excuse excuse. Nobody really cares. I dropped the ball and hung onto 3rd.

Regardless, I had a great time. It was a lot of fun. Andy and Matt are both on fire, some amazing throws. Looking forward to bringing some heat at my next game for some redemption. Thanks to Wally, Bobby Dodd, The Queen and everyone else that made this run smooth. Looking forward to my next visit to the Claw.

As always, thanks to my Mrs for taking care of our kids and supporting me in competition. You don't know how much it means to me.

Back to the drawing board. I took a few things away from the Claw that I'll be implementing in practice and I had a couple mental breakthroughs last week that I'm going to play with this week. Pleasanton coming up in 4 weeks. Do work son.

7/23/13 - hammer/wfd/stone/sheaf/caber

Training#1 @ 530a

16# hammer x10-12

49# wfd
*1 turn x5
*full x5

Rough hammer session, but I achieved what I wanted: a smoother entry and a long push on the finish. Due to humidity and the lake that has become of my throwing field, it was very tough to keep the handle dry on the hammer and subsequently the tacky was not working well. Regardless, wasn't looking for numbers here anyways. Majority were 115-123ish I suppose.

Weight felt solid, but little effort. Can still feel the fatigue from the weekend plus yesterdays throwing. Got a little extra sleep last night so thats great. Anyways, getting good separation at the front and that is the primary goal, so I can feel the push to zero and a long push into the field. Secondary mission is timing of the sprint. Whenever I try to gas it I'm just a tad late and sprint way left. My best throws are right down the pipe or just barely slightly left. Goal here is to drill in those reps with good timing. Took a couple where I sped things up and distances were about 47ft, nothing huge at all but positions, timing and push into the field felt great.

Training#2 @ 1215p

16# hammer x6, best 132

15.5# stone
*stand x5
*full spin x6

I initially was just going to do stone but hammer got in my head and was bugging me between the crappy two attempts at Portland and the so-so numbers the last two mornings so I pulled those out and did a few reps real quick. Gassed the last two and went 129/132. Considering fatigue levels I'll take it. I am noticing that I'm having trouble catching the hammer at 12:00. Watched some video and I think I need to turn my torso to the right just a little bit more on the catch so I can apply force sooner for a longer finish.

Stones felt ok. Feeling the separation and a long push on the standing tosses but spins are going to take a bit more time before I'm keeping my left leg down on every one. Its a work in progress.

Training#3 @ 6p

caber (100# x 20ft) 1 turn out of 10 tries

20# sheaf x 6

Dialed in sheaf real quick. Felt explosive and got a nice long push on it. Caber was meh. Energy pretty drained here. Watched some video, some things to change: look up at the top of the caber before pulling, sit back and get my hips low, pull the caber up through my chin. Time to make this a weekly practice sesh.

Time to rest up for Claw this weekend.

7/22/13 - hammer/wfd/stone/wob

Training#1 @ 515a

16# hammer x11

49# wfd
*1 turn x6
full x5

28# wfd x8

Took a while to get loose on the hammer. The biggest thing I'm looking for here is good extension on my left side and I want to FEEL the push starting at 12 all the way around to release. I accomplished this on the last 3 tosses. Biggest thing is I need to push my right shoulder back and down sooner to get into the position to start pushing so early. Productive. No big numbers, maybe 105-115ish real slow.

Weights felt good. Looking to separate and really reach back to catch the weight. Good push to zero and a good push into the field. Again, not looking for big numbers, just positions. Went 43 one turn, 47 full and 82 with the light. One of the primary focuses was driving straight and a long push for the finish. Felt really good.

Training#2 @ 1145a

15.5# stone
*stand x6, best 48+ (training PR)
*full spin x6, best 53

Getting better at pushing with my right side. Not really focusing on my left at the moment. I know I can add more in later but right now I want to get as big and long of a right side push as I can. Lead with the right hip and follow through with the right shoulder then snap my arm for the finish. Trying to push right into my left leg. It's really starting to come along. Anxious to get a hold of one when I'm fresh and not all jittery.

Training#3 @ 6p

56# wob
*3/3 @ 14
*3/3 @ 15
*3/6 @ 16
*3/3 @ 15.5
*3/4 @ 16
*1/2 @ 17

Changed up my pull a little here. Trying to think "jump" with the weight. Just as the weight goes between my legs I get up on my toes a little and then follow it back with my torso but keeping my head up. Then I start pulling with my torso/pushing my hips forward but not exploding. As soon as the weight gets heavy in my hand I explode up. I'm trying to use the "heavy hand" cue because the weight gets heavy right about when it gets to my midfoot/toes. At that time I've got enough speed on the weight to really scoop the weight up. Trajectory/accuracy wasn't an issue at all here. I'd like to get another practice in before Claw but I need to make sure I'm recovered. I'll be hitting at least once a week from now on so I'll be very mindful about these cues until they're completely engrained and feeling natural. Pretty stoked I nailed one at 17ft despite my level of fatigue right now.

Tomorrow = exact same workout but with sheaf/caber instead of wob then done for the week to rest up for Claw.

challege caber even more laughable

4th overall

Pleased with the games. I had some good marks and some bad marks but overall I'm pleased with my performance. Tough field. Matt, Dan and Andy are the real deal. That's not to take away from the other guys though as Ryan took some soild shots at 18'6 wob and wasn't trailing far behind in anything else either. By the time I was comfortable with the stone it was my 3rd attempt and I'm not going to make excuses, I flat out missed it. Dan went 52 with it which is within my reach, I just need to step up to the plate. Weights were much better than the last couple games. Only 2.5" behind Dan on the hwd and only 2" behind Matt on the lwd. Hammers felt off for some reason. My first wind was very choppy and not fluid, something I'll need to dial in. My first hammer felt fantastic, even finished early but still dropped a near 2ft PR. Tried to really put some gas on it and kept missing the finish bad on my next two attempts that went only 119 and 122ish. Oh well. Matt dropped a big 139 for the win and 144 on his 4th extra (yes, we all know it didn't count) but it was impressive nonetheless. Wob was some silly longer implement that felt weird and had issue with my timing. None of the standers had a huge pull here. Caber was silly. I really show my inexperience in this event. Time to get my nose to the grindstone and fix this or I'm going to be the laughing stock of the games.

Had a fantastic time at my first rodeo in Portland and I'm looking forward to coming back. Cark and Kaelyne put on a great games. Weather was great and it ran smooth all day. To throw the same hwd that the WR was set with was gnarly. Thanks to Steve Conway for sticking it out with our moaning and groaning all day as he displayed impeccable judging skills. Thanks to all the athletes for showing up and bringing their game. Kept me on my toes and pushing forward. Thanks to Tod Stewart of Stewart & Torgersen Injury Law for helping to get me to this level. Without him I wouldn't have gotten to 1/4 of the games that I have as I was climbing the amateurs. Thanks to my awesome wife Kristina for taking care of the boys and holding up the castle walls while I was out hanging out with my oversized friends throwing large objects. Thanks to everyone that comes out and shows support to the games. Looking forward to continue marching forward on the heels of those in front of me. Claw next weekend. Can't wait.

7/16/13 - stones

Training @ 1215p

15.5# stone
*stand (step over) x3, best 46
*stand w/reverse x4, best 47
*full spin x4, best 51

Focus here is pushing my right shoulder into the field before finishing. This gives me more time on my left leg and more time actually applying power to the stone. I like this. On my way to becoming a better stone thrower. Feeling anxious for the next stone practice. Portland coming up this weekend. Time to rest and recover.

7/15/13 - snatches & hammer + wfd

Training#1 @ 415a

Hang power snatches up to a bunch of singles @ 185, drop to 135 for a couple triples

Miserable.

Training#2 @ 545a

16# hammer x12-15

These felt awful. Whatever confidence I had about hammers on Saturday quickly fled. I feel like a train hit me this morning and absolutely could not stay in front of the hammer. Towards the end I slowed the hammer way down and just focused on hitting some solid positions which made me feel better, though I still have that doubt in the back of my mind. I'm trying to just take those crappy reps with a grain of salt and blame them on fatigue so I'm not too worried. I know something big is in there, I just need to relax, hit the positions and make it faster than I've ever made it before.

Training#3 @ 1215p

49# wfd
*1 turn x5, best 45
*full x4, best 50

56# wfd x5, best 42

28# wfd x6, best 84

Really feeling beat up after this session. Didn't take too many throws but tried to really think about what was going on. Working on driving straight, separating at the front and timing the finish better. Feeling a bit more confident about wfd. One more practice then deload for Portland.

7/14/13 - stone/wfd/hammer

Training @ 515a

15.5# stone
*stand x6-8, best 44
*spin x6-8, best 51

Trying to focus on staying on my left longer. Andy Vincent said he focuses on pushing right hip and right shoulder. Can start to feel it but no big improvements yet. Spins felt ok, nothing big.

49# wfd
*1 turn x6
*full x6-8, best 47

56# wfd x6-8, best 41

28# wfd x5, best 82

Wfd feeling smoother. Cast and sprint feel great, its nailing the finish that I need to polish up. Overall much better than it has been, despite the numbers. Also still feeling run down. Took 2 full days off just to try to recover and it seems to have not done anything for me. I've got to get 100% recovered before next weekend.

16# hammer x6, best 132

Feeling good. Focus on long and loose and a nice tall finish. Was really trying to push these, just nothing left in the tank. Overall feeling not ready for Portland, but then again I don't think I ever feel ready for a games before going into it.

Hammer tutorial I've been promising for some of the peeps asking questions about different aspects of my hammer. I'm not an expert and this isn't hammer bible but it works for me and I'm getting some decent numbers. Hope this helps out some.

7/11/13 - snatch/fsquat/squat press & wob

Training#1 @ 545a

Hang power snatch up to 185x3x3
Hang snatch pulls 225x3, 245x3, 275x3
BB rows 225x10, 245x10, 275x10
Pullups 4x5
Front squat into squat press 225x3x2

Got up a bit late. Been feeling under the weather last couple days so trying to get some extra sleep, pound the vitamins and take it easy. Skipped hammers and wob yesterday to get some extra rest. Going to try to get some wob in tonight if it's not raining. Monsoon season is upon us. 110 degrees @ 75% humidity, fml. Takes me 45 mins to cool off from a workout and even longer to get dry. Snatches felt heavy, snappy, but heavy. Snatch pulls felt much better and explosive. I much prefer these over cleans and clean pulls. Haven't done rows in forever. I really need to get back on my game with these. Started off low. Will start ramping these up over the next couple weeks. The highlight of the workout was the front squats into a squat press. Man these are fun. The triple front squat is still an explosive speed style squat as the bar is popping off my shoulders every rep. Then I rack it and immediately unrack on my back into the squat presses. The goal here is to get fast and snappy enough to have very little press-out on the overhead part. Legs were feeling toasted after the second set. Ran out of time so called it there. Will shoot for 4-6 sets of these from now on.

Training#2 @ 6p

56# wob
*7/10 @ 15ft
*1/5 @ 16ft
*4/7 @ 15ft

Pshhhh. Not much in the tank at all. Should have known that by how heavy 185 felt this morning on the snatches. I've got to start training this more often. I need to be consistant at 17ft. Might start throwing the 49 just so I can get more reps in as timing won't change much at all. Speaking of timing, man I feel like I'm waiting FOREVER for the weight to drop to my mid foot before exploding. Its very easy to jump the gun. Left about 5 of them out front (pretty much the reason I missed at 15ft. Left a couple out front at 16 too. Others just slammed into the bar, not enough power behind it to get over. I'm not worried. Training is done for the week. I pick up my caber on Saturday so will throw stones/weights/hammers/caber/wob sunday. Then stones/weights/caber monday and stones/hammer tuesday. Usually I would throw on Wendesday too but with my different training schedule I'm going to give myself Wed, Thurs & Fri to rest up and recover before Portland. Some big names going to Portland and Claw so I've got to really turn my game up. Hopefully I can get enough throws in with the stone to hit a couple good ones coming up. Very excited for the next couple weeks.

7/9/13 - ohp/bench & stones

Training#1 @ 415a

Push press up to 330x1x3
Strict press 235x5, 240x5, 245x4
Bench up to 345x1x3
CGBP 265x5x3
Ring Dips x6, x8, x6
Band pushdowns 3x20

Good lift. Missed the first attempt at 330 push press then attempted again before racking and smoked it. No issues with the other two. Really wanted 245x5 but missed the last rep. Bench felt about as good as it's going to. Triceps feel like they might actually be growing & getting stronger. That's a win.

Training#2 @ 1215p

16# standing shot x6-8
16# full spin shot x6-8
16# full spin stone x4

Didn't mark any distances. Had a cone at 40 and thats where most of the stands were landing. Spins were a bit farther. Should've just thrown the stone. Had to concentrate on how to hold the shot and wasn't really able to concentrate on positions. Spin felt ok, really trying to hold my sight on the horizon during the drive phase for as long as possible. It's coming along but still feels so foreign to me. Stones are by far not a natural event for me. Watched video and something that sticks out to me like a sore thumb is how I'm jumping with my left leg vs blocking and putting that force into the stone. I know it's got to just be killing my distances. Talked with Andy Vincent for a while and he told me he doesn't even think about his lift side. He just thinks about a huge push with his right hip and right shoulder. I remember back in 2011 talking to Matt about weights and he told me the block on the weights were very similar to the block on the stones. At the time that made no sense to me because I was pretty awful at both. Revisiting that convo makes a bit more sense to me. When I throw the weights I plant my left and get on it hard. It's such a huge push with my right side. I never have an issue jumping with the weights. I went creeper mode and watched an old vid of Matts that has both stones and weights in it. He separates much better than me on the weights but its still similar. His stone looks the same though. Heavy post on the left, driving his right into the field. I looked at a couple videos of my finish with the weights and right as I'm pushing the weight into the field, my chest is up, hips are forward, right leg is driving and left is posted hard. I need to figure out a way to do this with a stone. Hmmm..

7/8/13 - clean/squat/pull & stones

Training#1 @ 415a

Hang power clean up to 315x1
Hang clean pull 325x3, 335x3, 365x2
Squat up to 405x1, add belt/wraps 465x3x3
2" deficit deadlift up to 495x1
Deads off the floor up to 635x1
2" deficit deadlift 595x1, 545x2, 495x3 all done with approx 45-60 seconds between sets.

Great workout today. Hang cleans felt pretty good, getting a nice pop. Clean pulls were miserable and akward. Got the bar just under nipple height. Def need more work here. Squats felt pretty solid. Fast and poppy on the 2nd and 3rd set. Then the bar hit the floor and all was great in the world. 495 was cake from a deficit. Went to 585 off the floor afterwards and felt my right hamstring tighten up, despite the rep being pretty easy. This kind of discouraged me from going for 635. I did some dynamic stretching, got a drink and hit 585 again. Smoked it, plates were singing. Loaded up 635 and while it was a grinder I nailed it. Glad I got that off my back. Been chasing that since January. Not only did I pull 635, but I pulled 635 towards the end of the workout. Very excited here, finally making some progress on deadlifts again. Speed can't compare to Rob Meulenberg but I'll take it nonetheless. Went back to a deficit to get in some reps then called it a day.

Training#2 @ 1215p

49# wfd
*1 turn x6, best 45
*full x8, best 51, avg 49

56# wfd x5 = 38, 39, 41, 42, 43

28# wfd x3 = 75, 80, 85

Trying to think about how I developed a big finish and the only thing I can remember is how I could FEEL the push to zero with the 49. That's what developed my push with the 28 as well. Even when I would get a big push with the 56, it was tough to feel, outside of the heavy hand at the low point. Did a bunch of one turns with the 49 with minimal sprint (maybe 20%?) and just working on feeling that push. After 2-3 I still wasn't feeling it. I then had this epiphany that I wasn't reaching back to catch the weight higher. The very next rep I focused on really reaching back with my right and catching the weight closer to 10:00 and boom, huge push and big finish out to 45ft (one turn, with the 49#, obv). Light bulb. Did the same thing for a few more reps then moved to full throws and ended up with a best of 51 and a bunch in the 49-50 range, pr is 52 here. Moved to the 56 for a few and was a bit discouraged at first. First two tosses were under 40. Then I just tried to think about an easy sprint and a big reach back on the finish and 40+ started going easy. Last toss I put some gas on the finish (but not the sprint) and went 43+. I got some video but erased the 43 on accident so, meh, I'll have more vid on Sunday. Thought about doing the exact same thing on lwd. If I'm throwing 83-86 now without really reaching back on at the front I'm sure there's a lot more in the tank. The 75 was slow as molasses. The 80 wasn't much faster, just a bigger finish. The 85+ was moving. Considering the extend of leg work I did this morning, I'm pretty damn happy. Finally got some confidence back with the hwd. Now, time to get these stones under control.

7/7/13 - hammer/wfd

Training @ 5a

16# hammer x10-12, best at 132, avg 128

Took a couple days off so I felt semi-recovered. Made the mistake of only getting 4.5 hours sleep though so that made me drag a little. About 4 throws over 130, new finish really feels solid. Still not reaching top speed. Looking for some big hammers in Portland.

56# wfd
*1 turn x6, best 35
*full x8-10, best 39

Really feeling the lack of sleep with the hwd. Missing the position at the front by a long shot. Very annoying. My cast/first turn/sprint feel great. Even have some pretty good speed through the sprint. The finish is a total CF though. I'm completely missing the drive to zero on the finish. There is no accelleration through the low point. I'm just landing, waiting and pushing the finish. I'm not feeling that heavy hand like on lwd and like I used to on hwd. I remember with the 49 I could really feel it and it transferred well to the 56. I'm going to throw the 49 a few times to see if I can get that feeling back then throw the 56. Portland is coming up fast. With my piss poor stone numbers I need to have really good weights and hammers to make up some of those points. Throwing a 42-43 wfd is unacceptable. I need to be 45-46.

28# wfd x5, best at 83, avg 81

Not bad. Can feel the increase of speed through the low point on these much better than the heavy. It's almost like I'm getting no feedback from the heavy. Makes me wonder if it's just a timing issue. I'm not pushing the weight soon enough with the heavy. Again, I'm going to play with the 49 this week and see if I can get that push and heavy hand feeling back.

7/4/13 - snatch/squat press

Training @ 930a

Hang power snatch up to 225x1x2, 185x3
Squat press up to 275x3, 225x5
Pullups 4x5

Done and done. I think I'm just going to work in the 185-205 range on these hang power snatches for a while and then work up to something heavy-ish for snatch pulls. I need to get a better pop off my hips. Squat press was something new to try. Speed work is pretty boring imo. Its easy to put too much weight on the bar and slow down too much. Was talking with a buddy of mine that threw in college and he told me they did squat presses quite often. I though it would be a fun alternative to speed work. I obviously can't go too heavy or I'll miss the press. The goal here is to get the bar as high as possible and lockout with the least amount of upper assitance. 275 was a bit heavy for this but not a bad guage. 225 felt great. I think I'll start these at 255 next week. Very fun to do.

7/3/13 - hammer

Training @ 1215p

16# hammer x12-15

Started off with 4-5 rounds of warmup winds. Feeling pretty stiff so having trouble getting the hips moving to counter fast enough. Distances were miserable even when I tried to get after it so I just focused on trying to relax and hit positions nice and slow. Been trying to clean up my finish a bit more as well, trying to push the ball up vs just out. Getting a lot more hang time and overall the finish doesn't feel as cut off as it used to. Felt pretty good. Looking forward to adding some speed.

7/2/13 - overhead/bench & stones

Training#1 @ 415a

Push press up to 325x1x3
Strict ohp 225x5, 235x5x2
Bench up to 335x1x3
CGBP 255x5x3
Ring dips 3x5
Band pushdowns 3x20

Great sesh. Initially wasn't going to go for the 325 but 275 felt like nothing so I went anyways. They weren't easy but they weren't awful either. Going to add 5lbs/week until I stall out. I'm guessing I'll be resetting in 2-3 weeks but the extra heavy stuff will be nice. Strict ohp felt great. Bench sucks, dips were meh. lol.

Training#2 @ 1215p

15.5# stone
*stand x6-8, best 45, avg 43
*full spin x8-10, unk distances

Stands feel pretty good. Distances were meh but as stated above my legs are destroyed. Just looking for positions here. Really trying to drive my right knee in and down and load my left for a strong block. Getting better at this but not where it needs to be. Also focusing holding my upper body from drifting forward and twisting around with my chest to the sky for a higher release. These are feeling much better. This is also carrying over to my ostone. I'm starting to be able to feel the position that I need to get into. Another thing that is helping is I'm thinking about the stone following a J path (facing toward the trig). I'm trying to think about PUSHING the stone through a J path. Poor articulation? Probably, but it's working for me. I'm thinking about pushing the stone from the very beginning of the movement vs just pushing when I hit my block.

Spins were ok. Pretty hot out so throwing stone with a sweaty neck is frustrating. I wipe down and I'm soaked again by the time I get setup. On top of that my knees are extremely stiff from last couple days. Need to break out the roller tonight and see if I can loosen things up. I feel confident coming out of the back but not really getting as linear as I need to. Leaving about a foot in the box. Going to sink down and load my left a little harder. Trying to keep my right on the ground as long as possible to create a good stretch and slingshot forward. The two biggest things I'm working on right now is:

1) holding my focal point on the horizon. As soon as my right leg touches down, it seems that I automatically look back. I need to hold that focal point longer so I can wrap up. That's going to keep my shoulders back and let me push my hips through.
2) Stopping my upper body linear movement at the front. I need to stop my torso from drifting forward and chasing the stone. Get left foot down and rather than continue forward, twist my torso and get my chest to the sky. I'm starting to get this but it's very difficult for me right now. Trying to visualize and apply everything that I would for a power position throw which is causing me to stay on my left a bit longer at the front and that's big for me. I think these are the two things that are going to get me to the next level. Now I just need to implement them. Starting to get excited about stones again.

7/1/13 - clean/squat/pull & wfd

Training @ 4a

Hang power clean 135x8, 185x5, 225x5, 275x2, 275x2, 315x1x4, 275x2, 225x4
Squat up to 495x1, add belt/wraps 555x1, 495x3, 495x2, 405x6
Deadlifts up to 555x1x3 no belt
RDL 405x5x3 + 30" box jump 3x5 superset

Smoked. Missed the first attempt at 315 on power cleans on the first two sets. Tech felt solid all the way up to and including 275. Was trying to pull high and snap my elbows around/under the bar. Felt great up to 315. When I put 315 on the bar I wasn't getting full extension and a big pull. Even on the ones I did catch, I caught it out in front of me. Just need more reps in to dial the tech. Not dropping under these hardly at all. Dropped to some lighter weight afterwards to focus on tech again before calling it. Squats felt ok until 495 was loaded. Hit 495 no belt or wraps for a VERY SLOW single rep. Had trouble staying back on my heels, hips wanted to shoot up. Same thing with 555. Called it there because I'd rather drop and rep than miss a single. Getting very close to my top end on squats. Lifting partner crushed two more singles with 555 then dropped to 495 for a set of 5. I was planning on 10 with 405 but got to 6 and just didn't have the WIM. I get like that on rep out sets. The 6th one felt easy but my mind shut it off and called it quits. Something I need to work on. The pulls felt easy, all of them. Very fast, tech was solid, stayed back, spinal erectors feel great. All the deficit work has definitely helped. Going back up to a 2" deficit next week for my 565 pulls. Going to drop down to somewhere between 455-495 and start working triples on the squat. RDLs finished off my legs good. I'm toast. WFD this afternoon.

Positions felt much better today, despite distance not being improved. This mornings leg sesh really took it out of me. Was sitting around 39 for a lot of throws in the beginning. Started being more aggressive on the sprint and finish and distances improved. A mini-breakthrough if you will. Got to remember that this isn't a lwd. I need to get after it as soon as possible. Also need to minimize my left side drive and work on driving straight. Overall a good sesh. Will hit wfd again on Sunday when I'm fresh from 2 days off. Stones tomorrow.

Still feeling off, however, on the last 2 throws with the 56 I figured out why my orbit feels off and I'm not getting that long push on the finish. It seems as if I'm leading my upper out of the back too early after the first turn. This is causing the weight to push too far right and throwing my high point off to the left side. I focused on pushing the weight down to zero, but was mindful to keep zero to the left or right at my right knee vs to the right of it and "pulling" with my upper body. Orbit fixed right up and I felt that very long push on the finish that I used to. By then there was nothing in the tank but I'm getting close to being back in the 43-45ft range as I was before.
